Fly.com has found direct flights to Dubai from London Heathrow from £298 return for various dates between now and 27 February 2013. For example, flights for a holiday from 18 to 27 November would cost you just £298, as well as 20 to 27 January 2013. Flights are with Royal Brunei Airlines. Temperatures during winter reach 24C in Dubai and if you're looking for the perfect shopping break, Dubai Shopping Festival takes place between 3 January and 3 February 2013.

Seven nights all-inclusive in Gran Canaria from £695 per person

First Choice (0871 200 7799) is offering a seven-night all-inclusive break at the four-star Seaside Sandy Beach Hotel in Playa del Ingles, Gran Canaria, from £695 per person.
