Hotel worker could face jail after being caught 'having sex with sofa'

An American hotel worker has been arrested after he was caught having sex with a yellow sofa in the street.

According to the Daily Mail, 46-year-old Gerard Streator, from Waukesha, Wisconsin, was seen by a police officer 'thrusting' on the abandoned sofa.

The police officer, who was on his daily run, said the act wasn't even discreet and took place on a street kerb.

Streator was charged in Waukesha County Court with one count of lewd and lascivious behaviour. He could face up to nine months in prison and be made to pay £7,000 in fines.

A criminal complaint filed by the police reads: 'At 11pm, September 3, the off-duty Waukesha police officer was out for a jog on North University Drive near Pebble Valley Road when he spotted an abandoned yellow couch on the curb.

'He observed Streator by the couch and thrusting his hips as if he was having sex with a person.

'The officer approached Streator to see what was going on and yelled "what are you doing?" which caused Streator to run away.

'The officer didn't see anyone else on the couch, but the officer realised Streator was thrusting it between the couch cushions for sexual gratification.

He then chased Gerard Streator to a building where he walked up to an apartment. The police officer contacted the police department about the incident and found out Streator's name.

The criminal complaint read: 'The next day police went back to the apartment and talked to Streator's wife. She said police were there the night before, but her husband had done nothing wrong.

'Police then went to Country Springs Hotel where Streator works and asked him about the incident.

'He denied being out, saying he had been at home with his wife and had gone to bed around 10.30pm.'

Streator will make an appearance in court on 1 October.
