Black cat survives 120-mile journey on underside of train

A black cat has survived a 120-mile rail journey by clinging on to the underside of the train.

The feline 'boarded' the train at Southampton and managed to cling on until it arrived at Cardiff.

RSPCA officer Simon Evans told the Metro: "This cat has used up almost all of his nine lives - it's quite unbelievable what he has gone through.

"Despite being a little shaken, the cat is lovely and friendly. He's in good health and so we are wondering if there is an owner out there looking for him."

RSPCA officials have christened the cat Thomas.

Cats aren't averse to travelling on public transport. Back in December the Telegraph reported about a cat called Dodger who had taken taken to hopping on and off the public transport at the bus station near his home.

The 15-year-old Tom even sat on bemused passengers' laps as the bus undertook its 10-mile round trips from Bridport to Charmouth in Dorset.

Dodger is such a regular customer that some of the drivers take tins of cat food to work with them.
