22 Carnival cruise passengers robbed at gunpoint in Mexico

A group of bandits have robbed 22 Carnival Splendor cruise passengers at gunpoint as they were enjoying a sightseeing trip near the port town of Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.
The tourists were reportedly travelling on a bus after enjoying a nature hike on Friday when the hooded bandits struck, according to news.com.au.
The men stole the tourists' valuables, including money, watches and cameras, and fled without harming anyone.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Carnival said in a statement: "Carnival sincerely apologises to its guests for this very unfortunate and disturbing event and is providing its full support and assistance.
"Carnival is working with guests to reimburse them for lost valuables and assist with lost passports or other forms of identification."
The tourists were part of a week-long cruise that set off from Long Beach on 19 February. Their bus was intercepted as they returned from the pueblo of El Nogalito, known for its trail through the jungle.
The cruise company has now suspended the tour where the robbery took place.
