A group of surfers lit up the waves at Bondi Beach in Sydney as they took to their luminous boards in neon wetsuits to welcome the Australian summer.
Custom-made surfboards with neon wire inlay and wetsuits wired with coloured tubes enabled the 17 surfers to become flashes of colour riding the sea.
The event was organised as part of the Welcome to Summer activities in the city, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Surfer Victoria Larnach said the event was a challenge as it is not always possible to see waves approaching in the dark, but added: 'It was great. It was a little cold when we went out but waves were good and everybody was having a blast.'
