Out of Africa: Prince Charles and Camilla go on safari

Prince Charles and Camilla enjoyed a rhino-spotting safari at a wildlife reserve today during their five-day tour of South Africa.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall were seen dressed the part as they were driven around the Phinda Game Reserve in the KwaZulu Natal province.

The royal couple were there to see how black rhinos are protected from poachers under the WWF Black Rhino Expansion Project, which aims to increase rhino numbers and boost the benefits of tourism for local communitites.

Unfortunately, only Charles, who is president of WWF UK, managed to get a glimpse of the endangered animal.

Charles and Camilla were allso accompanied by King of the Zulus, King Zwelethini on a walk through his Odini Palace in Ulundi, and were treated to a traditional Zulu welcome.

The Phinda reserve is a 24,000-hectare park, and is home to 30 black rhinos.
