Corrie star Antony Cotton has Twitter row with Virgin over '£600 train fare'

Coronation Street star Antony Cotton vented his frustration at Virgin in a Twitter bust-up after staff refused to accept his rail tickets.

The argument erupted after Cotton thought he could use a ticket that was originally used for a train that had been cancelled.

The star, who plays Sean Tully in the show, says him and a pal ended up paying around £600 for the two-hour service from London to Manchester.

He ranted on his Twitter page: 'What happened to common sense, morals and good old fashioned customer service?

'The company is tied up and tripped up by its own messy rules.'

But, according to The Sun, Virgin were defiant, and tweeted back: 'The train manager is correct to charge you an additional ticket as the advanced ticket is now invalid.'
Sounds like the plotline from a TV soap...
