Dutch trains replace on-board toilets with 'plastic pee bags'PA

If you need to spend a penny on a short-haul train in Holland, you'll have to go in a a plastic bag instead of a toilet from today.

New 'sprinter' trains, which run between the main cities in the Netherlands, have been designed without on-board bathrooms in a bid to save space.

The public hasn't taken warmly to the idea of using the plastic pee bag, which will be kept in the conductor's booth, and can only be used in an emergency.

According to the Daily Mail, the containers have a cup-shaped top and contain an absorbent material that turns wee into a gel-like substance. When they're finished with, the bags can be sealed and thrown away.
