Before he was called home to deal with the crisis in Libya, David Cameron was having a whale of a time on his family staycation holiday in Cornwall.

The Prime Minister was snapped showing off his ball skills while playing cricket on the beach with his son, Arthur, five.

Later on, he joined wife Samantha on a trip to popular local fish shop, Fresh from the Sea, in the pretty tourist town of Port Isaac.

The pair happily stopped and chatted to other holidaymakers and locals, before landing monkfish, scallops and mackerel for an evening barbecue on the beach.

The trip to Cornwall is David's fifth holiday so far this year, but, just as he was called home early from his holiday in Tuscany to deal with the UK riots, he's cut short his staycation to chair a meeting for the National Secruty Council for Libya in London.

The move follows rebel forces advancing into Tripoli, possibly bringing the end of Colonel Gadaffi's 41-year reign closer to its end.

David recently defended his right to live (and holiday) like a normal person, telling Radio 4: 'The pressures on your diary and time are massive, so you have to try to make sure your diary is arranged in a way that lets you have some normal life.

'Otherwise you get completely fried, you make terrible decisions.'
