Following recent trips to Halfords, the Richmond cinema, and the London Aquarium, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie proved once again how down-to-earth they are - by getting the Virgin train from Euston to Glasgow.

But it wasn't all as normal as it first seemed, as the A-list couple actually chartered a whole express train for themselves, their brood, and their entourage, at an eye-watering cost of £15,000.

The Hollywood star headed up to the Scottish city to continue filming his latest movie, World War Z, a film based in Philadelphia following the aftermath of a war between humans and zombies.

As such, workers set about bringing a bit of Philadelphia to Glasgow, with yellow traffic lights, yellow taxis and white Philadelphia police cars on set.

When the A-list couple arrived on platform 11 at Glasgow Central station, they were promptly whisked off by silver people carriers with tinted windows.

And crowds trying to get a peek of the pair might have been a bit disappointed, as everyone was kept five metres away from the beginning of the platform.

But the Glasgow City Council are over the moon with the visit, and the impact the film will bring to its economy, which it said was likely to be a £2 million boost, with 1,200 working to bring it about.

Gordon Matheson, leader of Glasgow City Council, told the Mirror: 'This is fantastic for Glasgow. It is amazing to see all this work by the film crew to transform our city into a little slice of America.

'We hope that by having a Hollywood blockbuster like World War Z filming in Glasgow, our city will go on to attract other productions of a similar size.'
