A new travel company has launched a dog-friendly holiday site featuring hand-picked hotels which welcome you and your pooch.

The launch of Chien Bleu will come as welcome news to dog-owners, who know only too well that the worst thing about going on holiday is having to 'abandon' beloved pets at the kennels.

The team at Chien Bleu have spent the past 18 months sourcing hotels that welcome man's best friend with open arms. They road-tested all of the hotels in the company's portfolio - with their pet pooches in tow.

The company's founder Erin Boyd and her three-strong team of testers known as The Paw Patrol picked out 30 hotels that lived up to their people and pooch expectations.

T
hese include The Milestone Hotel, Blagdon Manor Restaurant with Rooms and Trigony House.

Erin has a yellow Labrador, Blue (pictured) , and she loves to travel, not only with her husband but with her pup too. She noticed there was nothing on or offline to give dog lovers exceptional advice on places that not only were truly welcoming to people, but also of outstanding quality for our four-legged friends. And Chien Bleu was born.

For 2011, the company is concentrating on hotels in the UK, but the plan is to go global.

Erin said: 'I intend to establish Chien Bleu as the world's authoritative source for people who are looking for a brilliant place to stay that welcomes dogs with the same hospitality they do their guests.'

Brilliant. No more puppy dog eyes screaming 'Canine come too?'

The company has just launched its official website, check it out at chienbleutravel.com
