Britain's biggest-even lottery winners are believed to have fled to Spain in order to escape the hundreds of begging letters that have already started to arrive at their home in Largs, Ayrshire.
Colin and Christine Weir, who scooped £161million in last week's EuroMillions draw have gone into hiding, with sources saying that they have flown to Spain with their children Jamie, 22, and Carly, 24.
Their postman revealed: "The begging letters have already started coming. I delivered a pile of them today.
"But there are many more piled up at the sorting office. They are just addressed to 'The Weirs' and the manager is deciding whether to deliver them."
Police and officials from Camelot's management team have been put on high alert to protect the couple and their cul-de-sac is being patrolled by a police van.
Although the couple have said that they have no plans to move house, they are planning to travel - and have talked about flying to Australia, the Great Wall of China, Thailand and Cambodia. Mrs Wier suggested that they would be flying business class.
Before they splash out on a holiday home in Spain, the Weirs could spend a couple of weeks at one of these rented villas instead...
