Guests struck by stomach bug at Fawlty Towers resort hotel

Thirty hotels guests have been hit by a stomach bug in Torquay, Devon where disaster comedy Fawlty Towers was set.

The bug first appeared 10 days ago at the Majestic Templestowe Hotel and the hotel has been closed for a week to be deep-cleaned.

The hotel's owner, James Wright told the Sunday Mirror: 'The hotel will be stripped down. But it's ­nothing to do with our hotel. It could be brought in any time from ­airplanes, coaches and trains.'

Other hotels in the area have also seen guests fall ill.
