William and Kate's honeymoon island costs £45,000 a night

Updated

Prince William and Kate Middleton's secret Seychelles honeymoon island costs an eye-watering £45,000 a night to hire.

The sum - which would add up to £450,000 for the entire 10-day stay - emerged after the German businessman who organised the holiday revealed the island they are staying at.

Farhad Vladi, who runs his own private island estate agency, confirmed details of the couple's Seychelles hideaway to a Hamburg newspaper.

According to the Mirror, he said: 'Yes, we rented the island to the British royal family.

'Prince William and Kate are spending their honeymoon there. But you will understand that we are not saying anything further.'

In order to protect the newlyweds' privacy, the British media is not reporting the exact location of their honeymoon.

After delaying their honeymoon for ten days, William and Kate flew to the main airport in the Seychelles by private jet on Tuesday.

They then took a helicopter to the tiny island where they are enjoying a relaxing getaway in a sumptuous, secluded villa.
