Planet Hollywood plans hotels in China, Panama and Qatar

Updated

It's known for its celebrity and entertainment-themed restaurants and now Planet Hollywood is opening three hotels in China, Panama and Qatar.

Managed by the Wyndham Hotel Group, the development aims to bring entertainment, luxury and contemporary style to its locations.

The hotel chain's design plans are said 'to incorporate Hollywood and movie memorabilia in each of the hotel brand's signature guest rooms.'

The Planet Hollywood Hotel in Qatar will be set in the Entertainment City, the property in Panama City will be in the financial district and the hotel in Boao, China will be part of a complex on Hainan Island including entertainment venues and shops.

Planet Hollywood launched in 1991 with film, sports and celebrity-themed restaurants around the world and the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. It's had A-list investors including Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis but filed for bankruptcy and was forced to close many restaurants before the Wyndham Hotel Group took over in 2010.
