Qantas staff have expressed their dismay at the airline's brand new in-flight safety video in which John Travolta poses as the captain of a passenger plane.
They have complained that the video is 'corny' and 'tacky' - and that the airline should use 'genuine aviation professionals' to give advice.
The Grease star appears in a video played before take-off on every domestic and long-haul Qantas flight. Wearing a captain's uniform, he says: 'This is your captain speaking - well, maybe not today.'
He also refers to the cabin crew as the 'team', offending at least one cabin crew member. Writing anonymously on online chat forum, the employee says: 'It makes us feel like we work in McDonalds.'
However, a Qantas spokeswoman said the airline had received only positive feedback from staff and customers, saying: 'We're really happy with the video and we think it's really engaging.'
