Take three: Unique family holidays for half term

Updated

Looking for something a little bit different for half term or even a summer family getaway this year? Don't fancy a villa or apartments that look like a cardboard cutout of the next door neighbour's?

We think we've found the answer. The website oneoffplaces.co.uk specialises in finding family-focused holidays that are totally unique- and they've recently added a host of new properties to their cool collection. We've picked our favourite three:

1Vintage Airstream Caravans on the Isle of Wight
Nestled in the stunning countryside on a working farm called Ashley, is this collection of 11 classic American trailers, plus a few vintage British caravans with quirky interiors. The trailers range from 1946 to 1965, sleep two to six people, and are kitted out with everything from vintage fabric accessories to classic board games and music from the era. Plus, they're only 10 minutes from the seaside town of Ryde. Price: From £425 per week self-catering basis.

2La Vieille Abbaye French Farmhouse, Normandy
For stylish (think beautiful shabby chic), yet fun, head to this renovated 16th century farmhouse on a working dairy farm in France. A host of equipment is provided to ensure a stress-free stay at any time of the year, including a huge outdoor play area and a recently completed indoor play barn. The interior offers a funky mix of vintage linens, rosebud prints and rustic hand-painted furniture, and has five bedrooms that can sleep up to 14 people. Price: From 500 euros per week, self-catering.

3 Alexander House, Edinburgh, Scotland
Sitting on the doorstep of Gleneagles golf course, Alexander House is a stunning eco-manor, built by leading architect Robert Adam. The indoor hot tub, covered courtyard swimming pool, croquet lawn, sunken trampoline, tree-house, billiards room, and swings and slides should keep both kids and grown-ups happy. There's eight bedrooms that sleep up to 20 guests. Price: From £2,000 per week, self-catering.
