New Survey Reveals the 10 Most Common Male and Female Dog Names

Sniffspot, which is basically the AirBnB of dog parks, went through their entire database of dog names and determined the top ten dog names for boy dogs and girl dogs of over 100,000 dogs.

Before we get into that, check out this adorable video of dogs that have more unusual names because they are all adorable and all of their names are hilarious.

So lets get into it! Check out these lists and see if your dog shares any of these names.

Top 10 Girl Dog Names

10: Sadie. 

I think this is an adorable name for a dog, and it's at the bottom of the top 10, so it's not like you will run into a lot of Sadies at the dog park, and absolutely no Sadies at a Sniffspot, because Sniffspots are private.

9: Nova. 

I see a lot of dogs with this name. I actually have no clue what it means. It sounds like a cool name of a new brand of dish soap. According to The Bump, Nova is a girl's name of Latin origin. It is derived from "novus," meaning "new." Nova is also an astronomic term given to bright stars that appear suddenly in the sky and release powerful energy. Okay, then!

8: Willow.

7: Nala. 

FUN fact that will mean nothing to you, my granddaughter can't say grandma so she calls me Nala.

6: Stella

I know a Stella! This is my dog niece Stella. She is a long haired Dachshund and she loves jumping on all of the chairs but she hasn't quite figured out how to jump down. Also, she's SUPER barky.

5: Bailey.

Umm, Bailey's is the name of booze. Not dogs.

4: Lucy

Fun fact! My human niece is named Lucy. Hi Lucy!

3: Daisy. 

This is always a cute name for humans or animals. I think all female English Bulldogs should be named Daisy.

2: Bella.

Bella seems like a fun name for a dog because then you can sing songs about how her name is Bells and she smells. It works, trust me.

1: Luna.

This is the number one lady dog name so if you are reading this and you have a lady dog tell Luna I said hi.

Top 10 Boy Dog Names

10: Leo.

People who name their dog Leo are either huge DiCaprio or Tolstoy fans.

9: Ollie

The Bump also tells me that Ollie is a gender-neutral Latin name means "olive tree," which is a symbol of peace.

8: Moose

I have never met a dog named Moose but now all I care about is meeting a dog named Moose. What an adorable name!

7: Zeus

For all you Greek God fans out there.

6: Oliver 

For those too sophisticated to go with that 'Ollie' choice.

5: Finn

You are either a big Star Wars, Adventure Time or Huckleberry fan.

4: Loki

Basically all big black and brown dogs are named 'Bear.'

I actually have never met a dog with this name either. Maybe people who name their dogs 'Cooper' never let them go outside.

1: Milo

I know cats named Milo. I know dogs named Milo. I think I even once met a goldfish named Milo.
