For viewers from the United Kingdom, broadcast rights for Euro 2024 have been shared between the BBC and ITV/STV. Both broadcasters will show today’s final.

Earlier in the tournament, the BBC’s treatment of the England team appeared to have caused a rift between the players and the national broadcaster. During the knock-out stages, however, the coverage of Gareth Southgate’s team has been much more supportive. Nevertheless, BBC colleagues have been annoyed by Gary Lineker’s treatment of Gareth Southgate in particular.

On ITV, the lead commentator Sam Matterface is an acquired taste. Writing before the final, Thom Gibbs says he is becoming a much more accomplished commentator than his critics on social media suggest.

In the US, the entire tournament is being broadcast on Fox.

Why can I not watch the Euros in 4K?

Buying a brand new television with all the trimmings for the Euros has been made slightly redundant with the European Championship not being broadcast in 4K. Thom Gibbs explains more on that decision, plus the difference between HD and 4K here.

Where is it?

The tournament was held in 10 German host cities: Dortmund, Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Gelsenkirchen.
