Clowns descend on Jaguars finale, immediately call for Trent Baalke's job

As promised, the clown show arrived in Jacksonville on Sunday.

It had a plane.

For a Jacksonville Jaguars franchise defined by frustration and disappointment, 2021 was, well, more of the same. But the ignominy was amplified thanks to the chaos of the brief Urban Meyer regime and the promise of Trevor Lawrence's rookie season devolving into another race for the No. 1 draft pick.

Jaguars fans, understandably weary of the ineptitude, made the most of it and organized a clown campaign for Sunday's season finale against the Indianapolis Colts. It started online with an avatar pasted with a likeness of owner Shad Khan's mustache.

Fans promised to show up for Sunday's game dressed as clowns. They delivered. Somebody even commemorated the occasion by hiring a plane to fly a "KLOWNTOWN" banner around TIAA Bank Field.

Upon arrival, fans of all ages rocked rainbow wigs, red noses and Khan mustaches at pregame tailgates.

Once the game started, it was time to get to the business at hand — calling for general manager Trent Baalke's job.

One fan even took the message to the stadium's big screen.

The football in Jacksonville may be miserable. Good for fans on figuring out, somehow, some way to have a good time in Week 18. They were rewarded for their efforts with a stunning 26-11 Jaguars upset of the Colts.
