"My goal is to play in the World Cup in Qatar," Eriksen replied when asked about his soccer plans. "I want to play. That's been my mindset all along. It's a goal, a dream. Whether I'll be picked is another thing, but it's my dream to come back."
Eriksen said he feels great physically, and is eager to prove he can keep playing soccer at an elite level.
Christian Eriksen collapsed during Euro 2020 match
Eriksen collapsed during a Euro 2020 match in June due to cardiac arrest. He received CPR on the field and was transported to a hospital. Denmark was forced to resume the match, which players opposed. Eriksen let fans know he was OK a few days later, and underwent a procedure before being discharged from the hospital.
In December, Eriksen received clearance to train at Odense Boldklub (OB), his old team in Denmark. Eriksen was reportedly working out before he received that clearance. Eriksen, who now has a heart starter, cannot play in Italy, which has rules against players having a heart-starting device.
Eriksen can play in other countries. It could take months before he's able to return to the pitch.
