Salt Lake City police arrested 22-year-old Buk M. Buk in the shooting death of Utah football player Aaron Lowe early Sunday.

Buk faces charges of aggravated murder, attempted murder and felony discharge of a firearm. Police said that Lowe was shot and killed at a house party last Sunday and a 20-year-old woman was critically injured. The second shooting victim remains in critical condition after undergoing extensive surgery. Buk is charged with shooting the unidentified woman as well.

"We asked people to come forward and to share the information they had," Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown said in a statement. "Because of those tips and the unrelenting pursuit of justice from our homicide detectives, we have arrested the person accused of murdering Aaron Lowe."

Buk was arrested in Draper, Utah, located south of Salt Lake City.

Lowe was a sophomore cornerback from Mesquite, Texas. He played primarily on special teams. He was awarded the Ty Jordan memorial scholarship honoring his friend and former Utah running back who died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound last year. Lowe switched his number from 2 to 22 to honor Jordan.
