The sporting weekend in pictures

England kicked off a bumper weekend of sporting action with a 39-10 win over Argentina the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Dina Asher-Smith completed a historic hat-trick of medals at the IAAF World Championships with her part in the women’s 4x100m relay silver while Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
