Former F1 boss provides rare update on Michael Schumacher
Former Ferrari team boss and FIA president Jean Todt has provided a rare update on the condition of Michael Schumacher.
Seven-time world champion Schumacher has not been seen in public since a skiing accident left him with significant brain injuries in 2013.
Following six months in a medically induced coma, Schumacher returned to his home in Gland, Switzerland where his condition has been a closely guarded secret.
However, in an interview with Radio Monte Carlo, Todt, a close friend of Schumacher, revealed he regularly visits his friend and the two still watch Formula One together.
"I'm always careful with such statements, but it's true,” Todt told the station. “I saw the race (last weekend’s German Grand Prix) together with Michael Schumacher at his home in Switzerland."

Todt, who worked closely with the F1 great during their time together at Ferrari, also explained how their relationship has changed due to the accident but insisted Schumacher was still working hard on his recovery.
“Of course our friendship can not be the same as it once was,” he added. “Just because we can no longer communicate the same as before.
“He keeps fighting. And his family is fighting the same way.”
Todt refused to go into too much detail, in line with the wishes of the former Ferrari driver’s family who continue to look after him.
“It is something very private,” he added.
“Michael is very well taken care of. He lives with his family in his house between Geneva and Lausanne.”
