Ravens make Tucker highest-paid kicker in NFL

The Baltimore Ravens and record-setting kicker Justin Tucker have agreed on a four-year extension, the team announced on Wednesday.

The deal is reportedly worth $23.05million, including $12.5m fully guaranteed in the first two years and an $8 million signing bonus, representing record figures for a kicker.

Tucker, considered by many to be the best kicker in the NFL, was entering the final year of a four-year, $16.8m deal he signed in 2016.

He has a career 90.1 field-goal percentage, top in NFL history. He missed a PAT attempt for the first time in his career last season, leaving him 241-for-242 (99.6 per cent) over seven seasons.

The contract's average annual value of $5.763m through to the end of the 2023 season pushes Tucker past San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould ($4.971m).

Gould reportedly requested a trade on Tuesday after he was franchise-tagged in February for the 2019 season and the sides have been unable to agree to a multi-year contract.
