Machado crushes first home run with Padres

Manny Machado finally gave Padres fans a taste of things to come, hitting his first home run in a San Diego uniform on Wednesday.

Machado crushed a line drive off Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Matt Andriese down the left-field line into the second deck.

The home run came in Machado's 24th at-bat with the Padres, who signed him to a 10-year, $300million contract in late February.

He now has three RBIs and is hitting .240 in seven games this season.

There will obviously be plenty more Machado highlights to come this season. The third baseman tied his career-high with 37 home runs last year with the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers. He now has 176 career homers.

Machado had the home run and walked twice in four plate appearances in the Padres' 4-1 victory.
