Harper receives steady stream of boos in return to Nationals Park

Philadelphia Phillies recruit Bryce Harper was met with boos in his first game back at Nationals Park.

Fans began booing Harper when he was in the on-deck circle and a steady stream of loud boos continued through his at-bat.

Washington fans then cheered after every strike and the crowd erupted when he struck out.

The Nationals were quick with a response on social media as well. The team's account tweeted, "thank u, next" after the strikeout.

Harper, 26, penned a whopping 13-year, $330million deal with the Phillies in late February.

The 2015 National League MVP hit 34 home runs and a career-high 100 RBIs with the Nationals in 2018.

He spent his first seven seasons with the franchise.
