Roby at the double as Saints secure fourth straight win
St Helens maintained their 100 per cent record in the Super League, brushing aside Salford Red Devils 26-4 to make it four wins from four in 2019.
James Roby crossed for two of his side's five tries as Saints ran out comfortable winners at AJ Bell Stadium on Thursday, the result sending them two points clear at the top of the table.
Mark Percival opened the scoring when he claimed Theo Fages' high kick under pressure before touching down, Lachlan Coote adding the first of three successful conversions.
Jonny Lomax extended Saints' advantage in the 32nd minute, dummying his way to the line, before Roby's converted score just before the interval made it 16-0 to the visitors.
Salford managed to get on the scoreboard 14 minutes into the second half, Derrell Olpherts the player to get the try, but Saints quickly put to bed any ideas of a home comeback.
Lomax and Coote combined to put Regan Grace in the clear and while the Red Devils did superbly well to deny Tommy Makinson from completing a breakaway run late on, hooker Roby darted over on the next play.
