Mickelson predicting big year for himself and Woods
Phil Mickelson believes it could be a fruitful year for himself and Tiger Woods after the five-time major champion's Pebble Beach Pro-Am triumph.
Mickelson sealed a 44th PGA Tour victory with a record-equalling fifth Pebble Beach success on Monday.
The 48-year-old thinks there could be more to come in 2019 and would not be surprised to see fellow American and old rival Woods add to his huge list of honours.
Mickelson said: "Even today, if I play my best, if Tiger plays his best, it's good enough to win on any week."
He added: "The challenge is there are so many great young players and so many great players in the game today, that it takes our best to win.
"I just think that both myself and Tiger are going to have a really, really good year this year."
Mickelson will play in the same group as Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele in the opening two rounds of the Genesis Open this week, while Woods, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas are grouped together at Riviera Country Club.
