Andy Murray accidentally over-shares with Instagram pic of hip surgery

Andy Murray has announced that he is recovering from a hip resurfacing, which will hopefully relieve the chronic hip pain that has forced him into semi-retirement.

The surgery involves shaving down the end of the femur and coating it in cobalt chromium metal so that it can move smoothly within the hip joint.

After the operation, the tennis star shared slightly too much with his fans.

Murray posted a picture of an X-Ray and people have been quick to notice it shows more than he intended.

Eagle-eyed viewers spotted that his penis is faintly visible on the X-Ray, whether Murray realised this or not remains to be seen!

He shared the shot on his Instagram with the caption: "I underwent a hip resurfacing surgery in London yesterday morning...feeling a bit battered and bruised just now but hopefully that will be the end of my hip pain.

"I now have a metal hip as you can see in the 2nd photo."

Doubles star Bob Bryan underwent the procedure last August and, this month, was back in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
