With Toronto Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri's hat-trick in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Capitals, Washington have now allowed four hat-tricks in their last five games.
The Caps have given up a hat-trick in three straight. San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl put in three on Tuesday and Chicago Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews scored three times on Sunday.
Predators winger Viktor Arvidsson also tallied three goals in Nashville's 7-2 win over the Capitals last Tuesday.
With Wednesday's loss to the Maple Leafs, the Capitals have dropped seven games in a row.
The Capitals have given up 34 goals on their current losing streak.
