Napa joins Bulldogs after Klemmer leaves for Knights
Newcastle Knights have signed Australia and New South Wales representative David Klemmer with the Canterbury Bulldogs swooping to sign Dylan Napa as his replacement.
Front-rower Klemmer joins for the 2019 NRL season on a deal that runs through to the end of 2023.
Head coach Nathan Brown believes the Knights are signing a player with plenty of experience despite being just 24 and says he is just the sort of arrival his team needs.
"Klem has played 17 times for Australia and 12 times for NSW before his 25th birthday, which says a lot about him," Brown told the club's official website.
"He's a big man who will help us over the advantage line and lead our pack. He's exactly what we need."
The Bulldogs have acted swiftly by sealing the signing of Napa from NRL champions Sydney Roosters on a three-year deal.
Napa made 122 appearances for the Roosters over six seasons in Sydney.
"Signing someone of Dylan's toughness and ability is a major coup for the club," head coach Dean Pay told the Bulldogs' website.
"We really feel that we have got a high calibre footballer who will be a great addition to both our pack and our playing group as a whole."
