Cyclist gets struck by kangaroo in Australia

A group of amateur cyclists were riding along a dusty road in eastern Australia when they came up alongside a couple of small kangaroos.

So far, so cute...

However, it's not long before one begins to jump across to the right side of the road and then jumps towards the riders, apparently throwing itself at the cyclist.

"Normally we see the kangaroos but they never really come into close contact," one of the group said.

"This last ride saw two kangaroos panic and turn to change direction, with one launching and landing on my front wheel."

Neither the kangaroo nor the rider was injured.
