Warner makes 155 on Australian grade cricket return
Banned duo David Warner and Steve Smith both impressed on their respective returns to Australian grade cricket, with the former scoring an unbeaten 155.
The pair are serving year-long suspensions from international and state cricket, which were imposed by Cricket Australia for their roles in the ball-tampering scandal.
Warner, playing for Randwick-Petersham, scored a match-winning century to help his team chase down St George's 277.
Smith was also in good form with the bat as he made 85 off 92, though his Sutherland side were beaten by Mosman at the Glenn McGrath Oval.
Speaking to the Canberra Times, former Australia international Shane Watson said of his Sutherland team-mate's return: "The support he got today shows everyone makes mistakes and that people do forgive.
"How Steve has handled it is how you'd expect from someone who cherishes playing for Australia; appreciates the privilege that he's had.
"This is just another step along the way for him most importantly getting back in the Australian team."
