LeBron congratulates Browns for ending 635-day winless streak

LeBron James congratulated the Cleveland Browns after they finally brought an end to their lengthy winless streak in the NFL.

The Browns had gone 19 games and 635 days since their last success, a 20-17 win over the San Diego Chargers on Christmas Eve 2016.

But on Thursday against the New York Jets, number one overall draft pick Baker Mayfield led the Browns' recovery from 14-0 behind to earn a 21-17 triumph.

Mayfield came off the bench after starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor was forced out with a concussion, completing 17 of 23 passes for 201 yards to kick-start the celebrations in Cleveland.

And James - born in the city of Akron, just 40 miles from Cleveland - who recently moved to the Los Angeles Lakers after his second spell with the Cavaliers, offered his support.

"Congratulations @Browns!!!!!" the three-time NBA champion posted on Twitter, a message retweeted by the ecstatic Browns.
