Everton's latest signing has Liverpool's famous motto tattooed across his chest

Everton new-boy Lucas Digne has said all the right things since completing his switch from Barcelona.

He has pulled out all the usual phrases from new signings, saying that The Toffees are a 'great club', that he wants to 'excite the fans' and that he's 'excited' about the challenge.

And Everton fans will be looking forward to seeing the left-back in action too, given his pedigree and the £18m they spent bringing him to Goodison Park.

But eagle-eyed Liverpool fans have noticed something that is not likely to please his new supporters.

Digne, like many footballers, is adorned with tattoos, and one on his chest seems to suggest the Frenchman might have a soft spot for Merseyside rivals Liverpool.

It simply says 'I never walk alone', bearing a remarkable resemblance to Liverpool's club anthem, You'll Never Walk Alone.

Everton fans will not care about that if he performs in a blue shirt this season though, and new boss Marco Silva is already talking Digne up.

"It is important to say that he [Digne] is a player who, from the first moment he was contacted, showed enormous desire to play at Everton," Silva told the club's website

"He is a high-quality player, aggressive, with good technical ability and in the past five seasons he has played two years at Paris St-Germain, one in Roma and for the past two seasons he has demonstrated his clear quality in Barcelona."

Either way, you can't imagine Digne whipping his top off in celebration if he scores any late goals for Silva's men this season.
