Diamondbacks activate Pollock from DL

The Arizona Diamondbacks activated outfielder A.J. Pollock from the 10-day disabled list ahead of their game against the St Louis Cardinals on Monday.

Pollock, who has been out since mid-May with an avulsion fracture of his left thumb, is hitting .293 with 11 home runs, 33 RBIs and nine stolen bases this season.

He was on a potential MVP-calibre pace before his injury setback.

Despite losing three straight games entering Monday's action, Arizona remained 2.5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants in the National League West.
