Four-try Jennings the hero as Rabbitohs go top
Robert Jennings was the star of the show as he scored four tries to send South Sydney Rabbitohs top of the NRL after a 42-24 win over Parramatta Eels.
In the battle of the brothers - with sibling George lining up against him - Robert dotted down twice in each half as the Rabbitohs made it seven successive victories, while the Eels sit rooted to the foot of the table.
The initial signs looked promising for the Eels, who had led twice in the first half. Josh Hoffman was first to cross following a fumbled catch by Hymel Hunt before George Jennings and Bevan French added to their tally to give them a 14-6 lead.
But the Rabbitohs responded well to going behind with Robert Jennings crossing for his second in the 32nd minute.
Alex Johnston gave them a 16-14 lead just before half-time when he touched the ball down following a long kick from upfield.
After the break, the Rabbitohs dominated. Robert Jennings doubled his try total to extend their lead, with Johnston, Hunt and Thomas Burgess also going over as South Sydney ran riot.
The Eels did claw back two tries through Jarryd Hayne and Hoffman, but a fifth successful kick from Reynolds in the final minute put the seal on a fine Rabbitohs display.
