Storm offer Bellamy 'significant' deal amid reported Broncos interest
Melbourne Storm chief executive Dave Donaghy has revealed that Craig Bellamy was offered a new three-year contract a month ago amid reported interest from Brisbane Broncos.
Bellamy is out of contract at the end of the season and NRL rivals Brisbane have been linked with a move for the long-serving Storm coach.
Donaghy says the defending champions have come up with a substantial offer in a bid to keep three-time premiership-winner Bellamy.
"Craig has a significant three-year deal on the table with us. That's been there for a month," he told NRL.com
Broncos head coach Wayne Bennett last week stormed out of his news conference after repeated questions about his future and talk that Bellamy may succeed him.
Quizzed about the Broncos' interest, Donaghy said: "That's a question for them. I don't care."
England head coach Bennett is contracted to Brisbane until the end of next year.
