Let's get it on! Fury takes aim at Rocket with challenge to O'Sullivan
Tyson Fury may still be without an opponent for his ring return but the heavyweight has a potential foe firmly in his sights - snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan!
Fury is preparing to make his long-awaited boxing comeback on June 9, though it is yet to be announced who will be in the opposite corner in Manchester next month.
The former WBO, WBA and IBF champion took the time out from his training schedule on Thursday to suggest a cross-sport challenge to O'Sullivan, who is known to box as part of his fitness regime.
Via Instagram stories, Fury proposed he and Rocket Ronnie go toe-to-toe in three rounds of sparring before then swapping the boxing gloves for snooker cues, with the pair playing in three frames on the green baize.
"This is a message to Ronnie O'Sullivan," the unbeaten 29-year-old said in the short video posted on on his personal account.
"Ronnie O - I challenge you to a battle of the sporting mavericks, three rounds of sparring versus three frames of snooker. Let's get it on!"
O'Sullivan was knocked out by Ali - Ali Carter, that is - in the second round of the recent World Snooker Championship at the Crucible in Sheffield.
But, despite a clear height, reach and weight disadvantage, could he be tempted to step between the ropes? And can Fury pot balls anywhere near as well as he throws hooks?
We wait to find out if the unique clash will go ahead...
