Ex-Manchester United boss Moyes leaves West Ham
David Moyes has left West Ham following the end of his short-term contract as manager, the Premier League club have confirmed.
Former Everton and Manchester United boss Moyes was appointed until the end of this season last November, following a dreadful start to the campaign under predecessor Slaven Bilic.
West Ham secured their top-flight status with two games to spare thanks to a 2-0 win at Leicester City, but Moyes has presided over a fraught time at the club.
Supporters' unhappiness with West Ham's board has been evident since the club moved to London Stadium and those frustrations spilled over in unseemly fashion when some fans invaded the field and tried to storm the directors' box during a 3-0 home defeat against Burnley in March.
West Ham's joint-chairman David Sullivan - a target for plenty of that ire - thanked Moyes for keeping the team in the top flight and promised a "high-calibre" figure as his replacement.
