Jagr to play 30th hockey season in Czech Republic
Future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr's NHL career may be over, but he is not done with hockey just yet.
The veteran winger confirmed that he will play his 30th professional hockey season for the Kladno Knights in a second-tier league in the Czech Republic.
Jagr told the team website he intends to "return to the role of the player" in 2018-19.
The 46-year-old spent 24 seasons in the NHL with nine different teams and last played with the Calgary Flames.
He logged seven points in 22 games for Calgary before being placed on waivers in January.
Jagr ranks third in games played (1,733), third in goals (766), fifth in assists (1,155), and second in points (1,921) in the league's all-time leaderboards.
