Froome crashes before start of Giro
Chris Froome's bid to complete a Grand Tour clean sweep got off to a bad start when he crashed before the opening stage on Friday.
The Team Sky rider was out on a recon ahead of the time trial in Jerusalem when he suffered a fall.
Froome was pictured with a ripped jersey and shorts and cuts around his hip and right knee as his bike was repaired.
Team Sky told Cycling News that the Brit is "fine" and "there is no significant damage or cause for concern".
The Giro is the only Grand Tour title that has eluded Froome, who is under increased scrutiny as the UCI investigates his adverse analytical finding during his Vuelta a Espana triumph last year.
Froome's sample showed elevated levels of asthma drug salbutamol, but the 32-year-old has insisted he is not guilty of any wrongdoing.
