Yankees' Montgomery removed after just seven pitches
Jordan Montgomery was taken out of the New York Yankees' matchup with the Houston Astros on Tuesday after just one inning with left elbow tightness.
The 25-year-old starting pitcher threw just seven pitches (five strikes) in his inning of work, but came off the mound shaking his elbow as if he were in pain.
Almost immediately after, Domingo German got up in the bullpen and came on to work in the second inning.
Montgomery will see a specialist in New York on Wednesday to further evaluate his injury.
The former South Carolina pitcher sported a 3.76 ERA and a 2-0 record coming into Wednesday's game.
