Twins place Sano on 10-day DL

The Minnesota Twins placed third baseman Miguel Sano on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

The move is retroactive to April 28. Sano has played just 20 games this season, batting .213 with five home runs and 14 RBIs.

To replace Sano on the roster, Minnesota recalled infielder Gregoria Petit from Triple-A. He is currently hitting .293 for the Red Wings of Rochester.

Minnesota (9-15) are currently third in the American League (AL) Central after losing 10 of their last 11 games.
