Josh Allen confident tweets won't impact NFL Draft stock

Josh Allen does not believe his NFL Draft position will be affected by the appearance of insensitive tweets sent from his Twitter account in 2012 and 2013.

A handful of deleted tweets of a racially insensitive nature surfaced on Wednesday, with Allen, expected to be one of the first quarterbacks off the board in Dallas on Thursday, admitting he had sent them.

Allen apologised in an interview with ESPN on Thursday and, speaking to NFL Network on the red carpet, reiterated he has grown as a person since posting the tweets.

"Going back to six years ago I was a kid, I'm not the same person I was," he said.

"I own up to it. This is just a reiteration of what I've learned through my journey."

Asked if the tweets will impact his draft stock, Allen responded: "I don't think they will, I hope they won't.

"I've spent a lot of time with the coaches who are picking me. I think they understand who I am as a person, how I've grown."
