Marczynski hit by car but escapes without broken bones

Lotto Soudal rider Tomasz Marczynski was hit by a car while training on Saturday but got away without breaking any bones.

Marczynski, who won two stages at last year's Vuelta a Espana, sustained whiplash and had stitches on his nose following the collision.

The 33-year-old posted an image of himself in a neck brace with the caption "I will be back" on Saturday and his team have now confirmed what occurred.

"[Marczynski] was hit by a car on training yesterday," an official Lotto Soudal statement read.

"He has a whiplash and several abrasions on his face as he crashed into the car with his head.

"His nose was stitched, but luckily there are no fractures. Tomasz is back home now and we wish him a speedy recovery!"
