Stipe Miocic made history at UFC 220, defending his heavyweight championship for a third time Saturday.
Miocic (18-2) claimed a unanimous decision win over Francis Ngannou (11-2) at TD Garden in Boston.
With his success, Miocic became the first heavyweight to successfully defend the belt three consecutive times.
Such was Miocic's dominance of Ngannou, all three judges scored the fight 50-44 in his favour.
The other title fight also saw a champion retain as Daniel Cormier had a TKO win against Volkan Oezdemir for the light heavyweight crown.
Cormier landed some heavy punches early before the stoppage came at the two-minute mark of the second round.
Earlier, Rob Font and Calvin Kattar had TKO wins over Thomas Almeida and Shane Burgos respectively, while Gian Villante enjoyed a split decision victory against Francimar Barroso.
