Nick Easton's season is over due to a fractured ankle, Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer has confirmed.
The Vikings guard requires surgery after injuring his ankle in Saturday's shutout win over the Green Bay Packers.
Easton was hurt late in the first quarter when Packers defensive lineman Quinton Dial rolled onto his ankle and had to be helped off the field by trainers without putting any weight on his foot.
He was one of three players to get hurt in the match after long-snapper Kevin McDermott and defensive tackle Shamar Stephen also went down with injuries.
"We had some guys go down and other guys stepped in and continued to fight," Zimmer told ESPN.
"That's what this team is - a bunch of fighters that really don't care about who gets the credit.
"We're going to have to juggle some things around, but that's kind of what we've done all year."
The Vikings (12-3) will close the regular season at home against the Bears (4-10) on New Year's Eve.
