Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon marched to the top of the wicket-taking charts in Test cricket in 2017 as he cleaned up the England tail in the second Ashes Test.
As England fell all out for 227 in chase of Australia's 442-8 declared, Lyon was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4-60.
Having induced an edge from Alastair Cook (37) and pulled off a stunning caught-and-bowled dismissal of Moeen Ali (25), Lyon returned to make short work of Stuart Broad (3) and James Anderson (0), taking his tally of wickets for the calendar year to 55.
That takes him beyond Kagiso Rabada (54), with only Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in close attention and still to play Test action this year. The India spinners are currently in action against Sri Lanka.
